At Winkleigh Timber, we hold a large stock of natural slate in an impressive range of sizes including some large sheet sizes which enable us to machine some slate hearths in one single piece.

Slate not only provides a traditional, natural look but it is perfectly suitable around a fireplace. What’s more, it is incredibly easy to maintain. Slate can either be left as a natural look or finished; you can choose between a slate oil or polish, creating either a deeper colour or a stunning sheen.
