Description
Handmade from kiln dried oak, our Country Oak table is full of character and charm. Hand crafted on our very own base design called the ‘Swept leg’ – this base is as sturdy as you can get with no rocking or stability issues. We use a 2″ (54mm) thick oak timber for the top which finishes at approximately 1.75″ (45mm) to give a sturdy and chunky top. Should you require a thinner top maybe we can most certainly do this for you with a finished thickness of approximately 3/4″ (20mm) thick.
Our Country Oak table is different to our Town oak table in the fact that the timbers display cross cut saw marks, medium/heavy character markings and natural knots in the timber. The table top is sanded to a level suitable for plates and glasses but not entirely smooth. The more the timber is sanded the more the character is sanded away so we use are skilled judgement to achieve the perfect finish. Prior to waxing and oiling, you are most welcome to come and view your table to ensure you are happy with the finish. Our Country Oak tables are traditionally finished with our medium brown wax polish and a top coat of Fiddes Hard wax oil or a protective layer. Our tables are delivered as one piece or with the top removed for easier access if required.
